Shoot It Yourself and Hilary Devey

Personalised wedding videoThere are three things I love to see in a wedding. Personalisation, where the characters of the bride and groom shine through in every detail, DIY touches, where the couple, family, or other guests have tackled some aspect of the wedding themselves, and great value, where the couple have thought carefully about where to spend their budget and made the best possible use of it.

I’m always on the lookout for wedding suppliers that reflect these three elements, and one of my favourite is Shoot It Yourself, a unique wedding video company that gives your wedding guests broadcast quality video cameras and the guidance to film the wedding day themselves. Shoot It Yourself then edits whatever they film into a creative, cutting edge professional wedding DVD that really reflects the fun and excitement of the day.

You may well have heard of them already. They recently appeared on Dragon’s Den and received £60,000 in return for a 26% share in their innovative wedding videography business from multimillionaire Hilary Devey, who says:

“The company has a great concept, and some fantastic people behind it: the girls are friendly and highly-organised, and exactly the sort you would entrust with the task of creating a remarkable record of your most special day! This company is going to be the next big thing!”

The exciting news is that in 2012 they’re launching new wedding prices and packages starting from £399 for 6 hours of filming, top notch Sony Videocameras, delivery, collection, insurance and all of the footage put onto DVD, so everyone can afford an amazing, personalised wedding video, shot by the people that know you best!

If you want to know more about what they’ve been up to since Dragon’s Den, tune in to The Hilary Devey Story on December 29th at 8pm on BBC2, or simply check out the Shoot It Yourself website.
